Brandon Sanderson’s Reckoners series has been bought by 20th Century Fox, according to a report at Deadline.

The superhero series – which began with Steelheart, and continues in the just-published Firefight – deals with the confrontations between the Epics, people who gained extraordinary powers, and the Reckoners, ordinary people who learn about their weaknesses and then get rid of them. The central character, David, lost his father to the worst Epic, Steelheart.

The adaptation will be produced by Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps.
