Although you’d hope that this would have been a prerequisite of Twin Peaks’ pick-up by Showtime, it has now been officially confirmed that Kyle MacLachlan will be back for the sequel series.
“I’m very excited to return to the strange and wonderful world of Twin Peaks,” MacLachlan said at the TCA tour where the announcement was made. “May the forest be with you.” The actor will be reprising his role of Agent Dale Cooper.
“Welcome back to #TwinPeaks Special Agent Dale Cooper! @Kyle_MacLachlan returns in ’16 on @SHO_Network #damnfinecoffee” series co-creator and director David Lynch tweeted.
The nine-part miniseries is being shot this year for broadcast in 2016 to mark the series’ 25th anniversary.
