got 5 posterHBO has announced the start date for the 5th season of their flagship series, Game of Thrones, with a tweet confirming that “the countdown begins”.

The new episodes will begin airing on Sunday April 12th in the US, and on Monday April 13th at 9pm on Sky Atlantic in the UK. This will follow the week-long presentation of the final two series 4 episodes in IMAX format at the end of January in 15o cinemas across the United States.
