Space 1999 book

With the Blu-ray release of the second season of Space: 1999 due later this year, and a reboot still possible, the Gerry and Sylvia Anderson show would seem to be undergoing a small renaissance.

However, Powys Media, who have been flying the flag for the series with a collection of reprints, reworkings and new novels set in the universe, are bringing their Space: 1999 line to a close. According to a message posted on their website, the books arm will be wound up later this year, “but not until we’ve finished what we originally set out to do, which was to complete the Space:1999 Saga”. Odysseus Wept will chronologically be the final Space:1999 novel and they will also be releasing Prodigal Moon, the follow up to their earlier novel, Shepherd Moon, whose final contents will be announced over the next few months. They plan to have an announcement about the Year One Omnibus (the set of novelisations of the episodes) by the end of January.

The full announcement can be read here, along with the opportunity to buy the books already released.
