frankensteincover_cover_mediumFour genre productions are in the running for this year’s BBC Audio Drama Awards.

The shortlist for the Awards was announced today, with two Big Finish productions – Frankenstein and Survivors – nominated alongside the adaptations of The Exorcist and The Illustrated Man.

Alex Jordan is in the running for Best Debut Performance for his role in Frankenstein, adapted by Jonathan Barnes and produced and directed by Scott Handcock, while Matt Fitton’s opening episode of Survivors, directed by Ken Bentley and produced by David Richardson, is up for Best Online or Non-Broadcast Audio Drama.

Anne Bunting’s sound design for The Illustrated Man, adapted by Brian Sibley and directed by Gemma Jenkins, is nominated for Best Use of Sound in an Audio Drama, competing against Gary Newman’s work on The Exorcist, dramatised by Robert Forrest, and produced by Gaynor Macfarlane.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on February 1st in the Radio Theatre at BBC Broadcasting House. For the full list click here
