Lost River, the movie previously known as How to Catch a Monster, is not going to get a cinema release in the US, according to a report at Variety.
The movie, written and directed by Ryan Gosling, was the reason Doctor Who star Matt Smith shaved his head before filming his farewell appearance as the Time Lord in last year’s The Time of the Doctor. It was panned at the Cannes Film Festival, and has sat in limbo for some time.
It stars Christina Hendricks, Eva Mendes, Smith, Saoirse Ronan and Agents of SHIELD’s Iain De Caestecker, and follows a single mother swept into a dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town.
