Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

Following the events of the Doctor Who Christmas Special, broadcast worldwide on Christmas Day, Jenna Coleman will be back in the TARDIS for a further complete series of adventures alongside Peter Capaldi’s Doctor.

The end of the episode revealed that the first story of the new series will be called The Magician’s Apprentice. Coleman said that “It’s wonderful to have a whole other series with the Doctor. For me, I couldn’t walk away with the story being unresolved. There’s so much more to do, I think. They’ve finally reached a point where they understand each other.”

Series 9 begins shooting in January with an anticipated August start, the same as 2014.
