kryptonIn addition to the new Supergirl series heading our way courtesy of CBS, Syfy are taking us back into the realms of the Superman mythology with a new series named after and based on Kal-El’s home world, Krypton.

The official description is: “Years before the Superman legend we know, the House of El was shamed and ostracized. This series follows The Man of Steel’s grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest Super Hero ever known.”

Executive producers for the project are David S. Goyer and Once Upon a Time’s Ian Goldberg, who is writing the script based on a story by the pair.

The show is produced by Syfy and Warner Horizon Television.
