Ss-gb_coverLen Deighton’s classic tale of an alternate Britain is heading to the BBC, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Robert Wade and Neal Purvis, who have penned the scripts for the last five James Bond films, are adapting the book into a five-part series. The story is set in 1941, in a Britain where the Nazis have invaded; police inspector Douglas Archer investigates a murder which leads him to a conspiracy involving the very highest levels of government.

“Len Deighton’s SS-GB is a brilliant tale of espionage that dares to think the unthinkable, and we are very excited to be adapting it for television,” Purvis and Wade commented.
