HBO has decided to pick up the pilot for a revamped version of Michael Crichton’s Westworld from executive producers J. J. Abrams, Jerry Weintraub, and Bryan Burk.
The “dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin” stars Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, James Marsden and Evan Rachel Wood and is co-written by Interstellar’s Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy.

The original 1973 movie spawned a sequel, Futureworld, as well as a very short-lived TV series, Beyond Westworld.
