Constantine and Da Vinci’s Demons‘ David S. Goyer has another genre show on the way – an adaptation of Peter Straub’s Shadowland.
The 1980 novel follows two young boys, Tom Flanagan and Del Nightingale who spend a summer with Del’s uncle Coleman, one of the foremost magicians in the world, and discover that he may actually be a sorcerer. Goyer is scripting with Jack Thorne, who is currently working on a film adaptation of The Sandman.
Shadowland will be an event series for NBC; Goyer has also optioned Christopher Golden’s recent horror novel Snowblind (out soon in paperback in the US) for a potential similar adaptation.
