Bridesmaids and The Heat‘s Paul Feig has finally confirmed that he is working on a new version of the classic 1984 comedy Ghostbusters.

“It’s official,” Feig wrote on Twitter. “I’m making a new Ghostbusters & writing it with @katiedippold & yes, it will star hilarious women. That’s who I’m gonna call.”

There have been various attempts to revive the franchise over the past few years, but all have foundered. Feig’s version will be a reboot of the concept rather than a continuation of the mythology established in the first two films.
