Following on from the reports over the weekend that David Lynch was hinting at a return for cult hit Twin Peaks, it has now been confirmed that Showtime has ordered a nine-episode continuation of the show.

The nine episodes will be written and produced by the show’s original creators David Lynch and Mark Frost for broadcast in 2016. Lynch will direct all nine.

A special video was released at 11.30 am on October 6th by both men.
