Rumours have spread around the internet over the past couple of days that writer/director Roberto Orci has included a scene for William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy as the original Kirk and Spock in the draft of the third Star Trek film. Badass Digest claimed to have seen a draft of the script with the scene in.

No one at Paramount or Bad Robot has confirmed or denied it, but William Shatner pinned a post to the top of his Twitter account: “Let’s talk ST. I don’t know anything about the current gossip. Nobody has contacted me. Right now it’s just rhetoric to cause hype.”

Orci commented on TrekMovie.com that it wasn’t “in my interest to confirm or deny anything” since that would “limit my options while maintaining my integrity as a truth teller”.
