Avengers star Tom Hiddleston is set to headline Skull Island, the new prequel to the classic tale of King Kong.

Jordan Vogt-Roberts will be directing the movie for Legendary Pictures, from a script by Max Borenstein – a brief teaser was shown at Comic-Con earlier this year.

Skull Island featured in the various versions of the King Kong story filmed over the years, but it seems as if the focus of this picture will be on other inhabitants in addition to the great ape.  “Previous works have touched on the island,” Legendary explained in a press release, “but staying and exploring this mysterious and dangerous place offers Legendary the opportunity to take audiences deeper inside this rich world with a style and scope that parallels other Legendary productions.”

Skull Island is set for release on November 4, 2016.
