CBS has nabbed Seth Grahame-Smith and Greg Berlanti’s adaptation of Stephen King’s post-9/11 short story, The Things They Left Behind, giving it a put pilot commitment.

The story, first published in Transgressions: Volume Two, can be found in King’s 2008 collection Just After Sunset, and concerns a character who begins to acquire items left behind by those who died in the Twin Towers disaster in 2001. According to Deadline, the TV version “centres on an unlikely pair of investigators carrying out the unfinished business of the dead.”
