Black_AdamIt’s been known for some time that Dwayne Johnson was going to be turning up in one of DC’s new movies, but he has now confirmed that he will be playing Black Adam in Shazam.

His announcement came with this tweet: ‘”Kneel at his feet or get crushed by his boot.” My honor to become.. #BlackAdam #TheAntiHero #DCComics’

The Shazam movie will be written by Darren Lemke and produced by Hiram Garcia. The character of Black Adam first appeared in 1945 but has not previously appeared in a live-action film or TV series. His most recent animated appearance was voiced by Arnold Vosloo.
