Rila Fukushima, rather than Devon Aoki, will be playing Tatsu Yamashiro, aka Katana, in the new season of Arrow.
Aoki had to drop out of the series due to scheduling conflicts, allowing Fukushima, who played Yukio in the recent Japan-based The Wolverine, to take over.
Her character was created by Mike W. Barr for The Brave and the Bold in 1983. She is described in the TV series as a Japanese martial arts expert who wields a deadly sword, the katana after which she is named who was one of Oliver’s mentors who helped him to become the Arrow.
