Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

According to a report at Deadline, NBC are no longer moving ahead with their plans for their Wizard of Oz update, Emerald City.

Although ten episodes of the series had been ordered from executive producers Matthew Arnold and Josh Friedman, the site notes that the network were not happy with the back-up scripts which had been produced to follow the pilot leading to a “difference in vision” between them and Friedman. The network therefore decided not to proceed.

Universal Television may try to shop the dark reimagining of The Wizard of Oz in the vein of Game of Thrones to other networks.
