Jamie’s awa’ in his time machine again: Frazer Hines, who played Jamie McCrimmon on Doctor Who in the 1960s (pictured with Patrick Troughton as the Doctor), is set to guest star on Outlander, the Starz series inspired in part by the character he played.

There were rumours last week that Hines had been spotted being fitted for a costume, but TV Guide has now confirmed that he will play Sir Gordon Fletcher, the English warden of Wentworth Prison in Scotland.  According to the website, “Claire (Caitriona Balfe) meets Fletcher when she pretends be a relative of Jamie’s (Sam Heughan) and tries to convince Fletcher to — spoiler alert — let her see him”.

Hines will appear in an episode that is set to air in the back half of the season early next year.
