Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

Sir Anthony Hopkins will be the lead in JJ Abrams and Jonathan Nolan’s reworking of the classic 1973 Michael Crichton film Westworld.

In the pilot, Hopkins will play Dr Robert Ford, described as “the brilliant, taciturn and complicated creative director, chief programmer and chairman of the board of Westworld who has an uncompromising creative vision for the park — and unorthodox methods of achieving it.” He is joined by Evan Rachel Wood as “the provincial, beautiful and kind Dolores Abernathy, the quintessential farm girl of the frontier West — who is about to discover that her entire idyllic existence is an elaborately constructed lie.”

Jonah and Lisa Joy Nolan wrote the script for the Warner TV production for HBO.
