Don Matheson, who starred as Mark Wilson in Irwin Allen’s SF series Land of the Giants, has died aged 84.
Matheson’s Wilson was a bad-tempered businessman in the 1968 series set in the then-distant future of 1983, when the spaceship Spindrift found itself on a planet where the humanoid inhabitants were giants compared with the “little people”. Matheson married his co-star Deanna Lund (pictured with Matheson and Gary Conway).
The actor, a former narcotics cop, appeared in a number of other Irwin Allen shows, including Lost in Space and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.
