A movie version of the classic series The Outer Limits may be on its way to the big screen, using a screenplay based on Harlan Ellison’s original script ‘Demon with a Glass Hand’, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The project will be directed by Scott Derrickson – who has also just signed on to direct Marvel’s Doctor Strange movie, written by Jon Spaihts – and written by him and C. Robert Cargill, with whom he wrote Sinister.
‘Demon with a Glass Hand’ (which was not the Outer Limits story for which Ellison later received credit on The Terminator, contrary to popular belief) was part of the Outer Limits’ second season, and starred I Spy‘s Robert Culp as Trent, a man with a computer for a left hand who discovers that he is from the future and part of a war between Earth and the Kyben. Ellison and J. Michael Straczynski discussed including a sequel to this as part of the Babylon 5 story, but that never came to anything.
