Casey Kasem, who played the voice of Shaggy on Scooby-Doo among many other vocal roles, has died aged 82.
Kasem played Robin in the 1960s Batman cartoons and the Superfriends series, alongside his long run as Norville ‘Shaggy’ Rogers on the various Scooby Doo series from 1969 to 1995, and then again from 2002 to 2009.
He was Merry in the animated Return of the King, and Mark in the first revoicing of Battle of the Planets. He had occasional live action roles, often playing himself in his capacity as host of the American Top 40.
His last role was as Shaggy’s father, Colton Rogers, in the most recent incarnation of Scooby Doo! Mystery Incorporated.
