Noah director Darren Aronofsky’s Protozoa Pictures are working with HBO on an adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s trilogy about a post-apocalyptic society, according to a report at Deadline.
The trilogy – Oryx and Crake (2003), Year Of The Flood (2009), and MaddAddam (2013) – has been labelled ‘speculative fiction’ rather than SF by the author, and follows a group of people affected by a ‘waterless flood’ which wipes out much of the world’s population, both before and after the catastrophe.
Aronofosky, Ari Handel and Brandi-Ann Milbradt will executive produce the series, with Atwood as consulting producer. Aronofsky may direct portions of the series.
