After their first attempt at a Supernatural spin-off failed to gain traction during the development season, the CW are going to try again next year, according to CW chief Mark Pedowitz.
In a call to reporters in advance of the Upfront presentation on 15 May, Pedowitz said the spin-off ‘just didn’t get there’ this year, and that ‘we want to develop once more for next season – what it is or isn’t will be discussed come June or July’.
The original series of Supernatural is being paired with the CW’s new adaptation of The Flash on Tuesday evenings, while Arrow and The 100 return on Wednesdays. The Vampire Diaries will air on Thursdays, with its spin-off The Originals on Mondays.
iZombie and The Messengers will debut next year, and Beauty and the Beast will not return until 2015.
