Yet more cast photos are being released for Warner Bros TV’s epic reimagining of the pre-Batman years of Gotham City, with a first look at Ben McKenzie as Jim Gordon and Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot, soon to be aka the Penguin.

McKenzie’s Gordon is only a lowly detective at this point in his career, “brave, honest and ready to prove himself.” According to the official description, “Growing up in Gotham City’s surrounding suburbs, James Gordon romanticized the city as a glamorous and exciting metropolis where his late father once served as a successful district attorney. Now, two weeks into his new job as a Gotham City detective and engaged to his beloved fiancée, Barbara Kean (Erin Richards), Gordon is living his dream – even as he hopes to restore the city back to the pure version he remembers it was as a kid.”

Robin Lord Taylor’s Cobblepot “has the brains of a chess grandmaster and the morals of a jackal. A low-level psychopath for gangster Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith), he hides his sadistic lust for power behind an exquisitely polite demeanour.”

Gotham comes to the Fox network in the autumn.
