Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

According to a report at Deadline, Pierce Brown’s new novel Red Rising is set to head for cinema screens, courtesy of World War Z’s Marc Forster.

The novel, which was only released at the end of last month, is the start of a trilogy of adventures set on Mars, about Darrow, a member of a lower class who manages to masquerade as one of the higher-born after the death of someone close to him. The book has been described as a combination of The Hunger Games and Ender’s Game.

Brown has scripted the adaptation himself, which is being shopped to major studios.
