sunset_uk_hbStephen King’s short story Ayana looks as if it might be heading to NBC, according to a report at Variety.

The tale, which first appeared in the Paris Review in 2007, and then in King’s collection Just After Sunset the following year, concerns a young blind seven year old girl whose kiss delivers miraculous cures and the effect that has on the narrator of the piece. The TV version is “set in the world of miracles,” and “features complex and powerful characters who are touched with just a hint of unexplained magic that triggers profound change in their lives.”

Buried’s Chris Sparling is writing the pilot script for Universal TV, who will shop the project around if NBC don’t pick it up.
