Scorpion, a drama inspired by the story of Scorpion Computer Services’ boss Walter O’Brien, has received a pilot order from CBS.
The pilot is written by Breakout Kings’ Nick Santora and will be directed by Fast and Furious’ Justin Lin, with Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman executive producing. It focuses on “an eccentric genius and his international network of super-geniuses who form the last line of defence against the complex threats of the modern age”.
O’Brien is described on the Scorpion website as is “one of the world’s leading experts in the application of computer science and artificial intelligence to solve complex industry challenges” and has been likened to “a real life Professor X”, the X-Men character who recruited others for his “School for Gifted Youngsters.”
