Sci-Fi Bulletin: Exploring the Universes of SF, Fantasy, Horror and Spy-fi!

The BBC this evening (27 January 2014) unveiled the new look for Peter Capaldi’s twelfth Doctor. The outfit, put together by BBC costume designer Howard Burden with input from Capaldi combines a neat white shirt (buttoned up to the neck), with a knitted cardigan or waistcoat, a pair of Doc Martens, and a Crombie coat with a Pertwee-like red lining (it’ll cost you £800 to buy one!).

Talking of Burden’s take on his Doctor’s new look, Capaldi said: ‘He’s woven the future from the cloth of the past. Simple, stark, and back to basics. No frills, no scarf, no messing, just 100 per cent Rebel Time Lord.’

The new series of Doctor Who is expected to air on BBC One in late-August 2014.
