In addition to their new Ray Bradbury-based drama, ABC has also given a pilot order to Forever, from former Chuck executive producer Matthew Miller.

The show focuses on Dr Henry Morgan, the star medical examiner in New York City, whose investigations into the dead are for a rather different purpose than normal – he himself is immortal. In partnership with detective Jo Martinez, Morgan’s long life will be revealed through the cases.

Parallels have already been drawn with Fox’s short-lived New Amsterdam series which starred Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as a similarly seemingly immortal detective.
