According to an exclusive report at Deadline, Barbarella is coming to Amazon, courtesy of Skyfall writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.
The project from Gaumont International Television is based on Jean-Claude Forest’s classic character, who was first embodied on screen by Jane Fonda. The new Barbarella will be executive produced by Nicholas Refn, who will also direct, and Dino Di Laurentiis’ widow Martha.
GIT hope that Purvis and Wade’s pilot script will be strong enough to gain a series order from Amazon television and a show runner is being actively sought.
