100 logoAs part of the TCA tour, the CW has released promotional trailers for its two mid-season shows: The 100, and Star Crossed.

The 100 premieres on March 19, and the trailer sets up the premise of a post-nuclear holocaust Earth and the space station which contains the remaining population (spot the Union Jack on one of the arms of the station). A group of youngsters are sent down to Earth to check on the situation and find that it’s not what they expect. With some clichéd dialogue, this looks like a combination of Terra Nova and Lord of the Flies…

The 100 has been bought by E4 in the UK.

Star Crossed, which starts February 17th, is more standard CW fare – teen rebellion and young love set against a background of an alien race who has come to Earth following the death of their own planet. Inevitably, one of “them” falls for one of “us”… As yet, no UK broadcaster has picked this up.
