Iron Man 3 was one of the many genre hits to be recognised at the People’s Choice Awards 2014, which were given out on January 8.

Robert Downey Jr. was the Favourite Action movie star, with the film winning Favourite Movie and Favourite Action Movie.

Gravity also did well, with Sandra Bullock the Favourite Movie Actress, and Favourite Dramatic Movie Actress, and part of the Favourite Movie Duo with co-star George Clooney. Bullock also won the Favourite Comedic Movie Actress award. Gravity was the Favourite Dramatic Movie.

Despicable Me 2 was the Favourite Family Movie, with the Carrie remake the Favourite Horror Movie. Former Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar won Favourite Actress in a new TV series, and The Walking Dead was the Favourite Cable TV show, with its lead character Rick Grimes voted the Favourite TV Anti-Hero.

Supernatural’s Sam, Dean and Castiel won the Favourite TV Bromance while Damon and Elena from The Vampire Diaries had the Favourite On-Screen Chemistry; Ian Somerhalder was the Favourite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actor. Beauty and the Beast was the Favourite TV Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show, with its star Kristin Kreuk the Favourite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actress.
