WalkingDeadS03E10NB Spoilers ahead for the fourth season of The Walking Dead.

Despite the events of the mid-fourth season finale, David Morrissey has hinted that his time on The Walking Dead may not have come to an end.

The actor, who has played the Governor, aka Philip Blake, throughout the third season, and the first half of the fourth, commented to the Press Association that “Something happened to him,” adding that “I feel like a shady politician where I can’t confirm and I can’t deny anything… Certainly, bad things befell him at the end of the last episode but we just have to wait and see.”

Morrissey has enjoyed his time on the show: “[It] really does punch large and I’m very proud to be associated with [it]. I love being on The Walking Dead, I love playing the Governor and it’s given me such a great connection with the public.”

However, producer Gale Ann Hurd seemed to confirm at the start of December that the Governor was dead. “That was a head shot! Lilly shot him,” she told Zap2It.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC in the States on February 9th, and is expected to continue on Fox in the UK on February 14th.
