According to a report at Deadline, a contemporary reworking of the tales of King Arthur is on the way from ABC, after the network gave a put pilot commitment to Excalibur.
The concept was devised by Ice Age: Continental Drift’s Jason Fuchs and producer Greg Berlanti, and apparently “centres on a young Brooklyn man who is forever changed when his life is saved by a beautiful stranger who reveals that he is the last living descendant of the very real King Arthur and that he is now at the centre of an eons-old shadow war between the descendants of the Knights of the Roundtable and the forces of dark magic.”
Fans of the BBC’s Merlin, which finished with Colin Morgan’s Merlin seen in contemporary Wales, may wonder if the series’ other star, Bradley James, might make a good fit for the lead!
