Best selling author Tom Clancy has died, aged sixty-six.
Known worldwide for his series of novels featuring CIA agent Jack Ryan – who became President of the United States – he also co-created the Net Force series with Steve Pieceznik. This sequence of novels was set in the then-future of 2010 and featured a unit which tackled cybercrime and cyberwarfare. A series of Young Adult books (Net Force Explorers) continued the story fifteen years later.
The first Net Force story was the basis of a TV movie starring Scott Bakula.
