EW Fall coverIn the new Fall TV preview edition of Entertainment Weekly, details are given regarding the plotline and characters for the third season of American Horror Story, this year subtitled Coven.

Jessica Lange plays the glamorous Fiona, described as ‘the Wicked Witch of the West. Labelled a “Supreme” for her mighty magical abilities, Fiona is witch royalty, descended from Salem spell casters, and has spent recent years using her powers to stay fabulous, like any good aging diva.’ After a young witch is murdered, Fiona returns to New Orleans from her home in Los Angeles, and has to work out a way to co-exist with her daughter Cordelia (Sarah Paulson), who now runs  Miss Robichaux’s Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies…

In 1830s New Orleans, Kathy Bates plays ‘society woman Madame Delphine LaLaurie, a historical figure known for torturing her slaves’, the enemy of Marie Laveau, played by Angela Bassett.
