Next year’s run of True Blood, HBO’s vampire series based on Charlaine Harris’ novels, will be the last, the cable channel has announced.

The final ten episodes will feature all the key castmembers – including Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgard – and will be produced by season 6 showrunner Brian Buckner.

True Blood has been nothing short of a defining show for HBO,” HBO’s president of programming Michael Lombardo explained. “Together with its legions of fans, it will be hard to say goodbye to the residents of Bon Temps, but I look forward to what promises to be a fantastic final chapter of this incredible show.”
