The new project has a pilot production commitment for the script by Nolan and Burn Notice‘s Lisa Joy, and is described as a ‘dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin’. It’s the second time Westworld has been adapted for television: the short-lived Beyond Westworld (partly directed by the late Ted Post) was a sequel to both the original 1973 film, which starred Yul Brynner, and the sequel Futureworld.
