Despite the very poor reaction to the 2003 movie version of Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill’s long running comic book saga, Fox has given a ‘put pilot’ commitment to a new adaptation of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

In the comics, assorted heroes from literature, including Captain Nemo, Allan Quatermain, Dracula’s Mina Harker, the Invisible Man and Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde work together to combat various foes. Nemo has recently spun off into his own series.

The new pilot will have Michael Green as executive producer/showrunner, alongside Erwin Stoff as executive producer. No details have been given of scriptwriter, although it has been confirmed that neither Alan Moore nor Kevin O’Neill are involved with the project.
