Former Doctor Who star Karen Gillan has been cast in James Gunn’s new Marvel movie, Guardians of the Galaxy, which is due to start filming in the UK later this month.
Gillan has been carving out a film career for herself since leaving Doctor Who last year, appearing in horror movie Oculus alongside Battlestar Galactica‘s Katee Sackhoff.
She will play the lead female villain, joining Lee Pace and Michael Rooker fighting against Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista.
