According to a report at Digital Spy, Doctor Who head writer Steven Moffat has confirmed categorically that series eight of the revived Doctor Who is happening.

“This is a thing that just seems to have slipped by… so can I say it very firmly – series eight is absolutely, definitely confirmed,” Moffat said at the BAFTA TV Awards held at the Royal Festival Hall on May 12th. “It is real and it’s happening – it’s [taking up] most of my time at the moment.”

The executive producer did not say whether this would be a split series, like series 7, or the show would revert to the 13 episodes plus Christmas special of the first few years back on air.
