Former Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazzara has been tapped to prepare The Overlook Hotel, a prequel to Stanley Kubrick’s version of Stephen King’s classic horror novel The Shining.
Although the Kubrick movie is also regarded as a classic of the genre, the changes made by the director did not find favour with King, who later created his own TV miniseries.
According to the exclusive report at Deadline, the new film is being developed at Warner Bros to be produced by Mythology Entertainment’s Bradley Fischer, James Vanderbilt and Laeta Kalogridis. There are no details yet regarding the period in which the film will be set.

I am so excited! I love Stephen King and I love The Walking Dead – this can’t turn out bad can it? :)
