Aaron Yoo is the latest cast member to join the reboot of The Tomorrow People that is currently underway at the CW.
The 21 star will play Russell, described as the “resident badboy of the Tomorrow People who is a lightning bolt of energy and fun.”
He joins Robbie Amell as Stephen, “a tormented man who longs to be normal and is relieved when he learns that he’s not crazy but rather part of a group of genetically superior Tomorrow People”; Madeleine Mantock as Astrid, Stephen’s closest friend; Home and Away‘s Luke Mitchell as John Young, a member of the Tomorrow People with a specialty in teleportation who is instrumental in recruiting other gifted people to the group; and FlashForward’s Peyton List as Cara, “the female member of the Tomorrow People group who has a sense of humour beneath her serious demeanour and seems to be a trustworthy ally.”
They will be battling Dr. Jedikiah Price, “an evolutionary biologist committed to containing the threat posed by the “Tomorrow People,” whom he believes to be a grave danger to the human race,” played by Mark Pellegrino.
The character names are intriguing for fans of the original: Jedikiah was the name of the original team’s nemesis; the show was created by Roger Price. John was the original team leader, played by Nicholas Young.
The pilot is written and executive produced by Chuck’s Phil Klemmer, and executive produced by Greg Berlanti and Julie Plec.
