HorsfallVeteran British actor Bernard Horsfall, who made a number of appearances in Doctor Who, and assisted 007 On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, has died aged 82.

Horsfall was a stalwart of British TV and film, also making his mark in The Saint, The Avengers (in the first episode featuring the Cybernauts), Freewheelers, Out of the Unknown, Doomwatch, The Persuaders, Beasts and The Hound of the Baskervilles.

In Doctor Who, he appeared in the Patrick Troughton stories The Mind Robber as Gulliver and The War Games as a Time Lord. Some fans theorised this was Chancellor Goth, the character that he played in the Tom Baker story, The Deadly Assassin. He also starred opposite Jon Pertwee in Planet of the Daleks.

Horsfall had been due to attend the Gallifrey One convention in Los Angeles next month.
