Bryan Fuller’s reboot of The Munsters, Mockingbird Lane, is officially dead, according to a tweet from the director.

“I tweet with a heavy heart. NBC not moving forward with #MockingbirdLane. From producers and cast, thank you all for enthusiasm and support,” Singer reported on December 27. The network had already passed on the pilot, directed by X-Men and Superman Returns helmer Bryan Singer, in September, but agreed to air it as a Halloween special to defray some of the costs of the project, which had been in development for over two years. The average ratings were not considered sufficient to proceed, even though scripts for future instalments had already been prepared.
