WILLOW BD_3PA_jpgLRGeorge Lucas’ fantasy epic Willow is celebrating its 25th anniversary next March with a major makeover for its Blu-ray debut.

The fully cleaned up Willow Blu-ray contains a dazzling array of extras with never-before-seen exclusive content including deleted scenes with remarks from director Ron Howard, a personal video diary of star Warwick Davis, matte paintings and much more. In addition, Howard has provided new introduction for the original 1988 featurette “The Making of an Adventure,” and there is a new intro to special effect legend Dennis Muren’s piece, “From Morf to Morphing: The Dawn of Digital Filmmaking.”

Willow follows young Willow Ufgood (Davis) who finds an abandoned baby girl, and learns she is destined to end the reign of the wicked Queen Bavmorda (Jean Marsh). To protect the child, Willow must team up with a rogue swordsman (Val Kilmer) and overcome the forces of darkness in the ultimate battle of good versus evil.

Willow will be released on March 11, 2013.
