Amid all the uproar on the internet over the Lucasfilm/Disney deal, the announcement that original X-Men director Bryan Singer is returning to the franchise has been overshadowed.
Singer, who directed the first two X-Men movies, will helm X-Men: Days of Future Past, the sequel to X-Men: First Class. The story is based on the classic X-Men two-parter from 1980, created by Chris Claremont and John Byrne. He recently directed the pilot for Bryan Fuller’s reimagined version of The Munsters, Mockingbird Lane (read our review of that here.)
X-Men: Days of Future Past is scheduled to be released July 18, 2014.
